Job description

OVERVIEW:
The Business Intelligence Data Analyst supports RMS's Information Technology department by designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise business intelligence and data solutions. This role is responsible for transforming complex data into accurate, governed, and actionable insights through Power BI reporting, SQL data modeling, and Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
The position requires strong analytical skills, technical depth, and the ability to learn new systems quickly, retain knowledge, and apply it consistently across projects. The analyst works closely with IT and business stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting, data models, and automation that support operational and strategic decision-making.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Activities include, but are not limited to the following:
Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, datasets, and data models aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Create and optimize DAX measures for accurate and performant analytics.
  • Write, optimize, and maintain advanced SQL/T-SQL queries for reporting and data validation.
  • Design and maintain relational tables, views, keys, and relationships in Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Build and manage Dataverse tables and relationships using Power Platform best practices.
  • Develop Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven) and Power Automate flows to support data capture, automation, and integrations.
  • Ensure BI and Power Platform solutions comply with governance standards, security requirements, and documentation expectations.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to gather requirements and deliver reliable data solutions.
  • Document data models, BI solutions, and technical processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to retain knowledge, apply lessons learned, and improve solution quality over time.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related IT role.
  • Strong experience with:

- Power BI (Desktop & Service)
- DAX
- SQL Server / T-SQL
- Power Apps (Canvas and Model-Driven)
- Power Automate
- Dataverse data modeling
  • Microsoft Fabric experience is a plus.
  • Solid understanding of relational data modeling and enterprise BI best practices.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to learn new tools and concepts quickly and apply them consistently.
