What is a business intelligence assistant?

Business Intelligence Assistants are professionals who support organizations in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to help inform business decisions. They work with data management systems, create reports, and assist in the development of dashboards and visualizations for various departments. Their role often involves collaborating with data analysts, IT teams, and business managers to ensure accurate and actionable insights are delivered. Business Intelligence Assistants help streamline data processes, making it easier for businesses to spot trends, improve operations, and achieve strategic goals.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a business intelligence assistant?

To thrive as a Business Intelligence Assistant, you need strong analytical skills, proficiency in data analysis, and a relevant degree such as business, statistics, or computer science. Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, SQL databases, and Excel are typically required, along with knowledge of data visualization and reporting systems. Attention to detail, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are crucial soft skills for interpreting data and collaborating with stakeholders. These skills ensure accurate data-driven insights that support organizational decision-making and strategic planning.

How does a business intelligence assistant typically collaborate with other departments to support data-driven decision making?

Business Intelligence Assistants often work closely with teams across the organization, including marketing, finance, and operations, to gather data requirements and deliver actionable insights. They help translate business needs into data queries, prepare reports, and present findings that inform strategic decisions. This role requires strong communication skills, as you'll frequently explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders and ensure that the information provided aligns with each department's goals. Effective collaboration is key to creating meaningful reports and dashboards that drive organizational success.

Is business intelligence still in demand?

Business Intelligence Assistants are in demand as organizations increasingly rely on data analysis and reporting to make strategic decisions. Skills in tools like SQL, Tableau, and data visualization are valuable, and the role is expected to grow with the expansion of data-driven business practices.

Job description

We're seeking an energeticย Business Development Manager to join our growing team and help drive market expansion. This is a hunter-oriented role focused on developing pipeline, generating new opportunities, and engaging with mid-market and enterprise prospects. You'll work closely with leadership but operate with autonomy - this hire is for someone who proactively finds and closes opportunities rather than waiting for direction.
This role is ideal for candidates with experience selling services/solutions (consulting, technical services, technology partnerships) rather than strictly product sales, and who thrive in an active, travel-friendly environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Source and qualify new business opportunities in North America.
  • Build and manage a client pipeline across multiple verticals.
  • Proactively reach out to prospects via outbound (email, calls, social).
  • Coordinate discovery & qualification conversations.
  • Partner with leadership to close deals.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and client meetings (travel expected 40% of the time).
What You Need to Succeed:
  • 5+ years of sales or BDM experience in consulting/services-led environments.
  • Proven ability to prospect, engage, and qualify leads independently.
  • Experience with selling technology services and managing negotiations with clients.
  • Highly motivated, results-driven, and coachable.
  • Comfortable working without detailed day-to-day supervision.
  • Willing to travel for client meetings and events.
About Provectus:
  • Provectus is an Artificial Intelligence consultancy and solutions provider, helping businesses achieve their objectives through AI and data-driven innovation organization-wide in such industries as Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare & Life Sciences, Retail & CPG, Media & Entertainment, and Manufacturing.
  • We are recognized by industry analysts as a leading provider of AI solutions across key business domains.
  • At Provectus, we value innovation, ownership, and collaboration - and we are looking for people who want to grow with us and make an impact.
Why Join Us:
  • High-impact role with direct visibility to leadership.
  • Strong earning potential with performance-based bonuses.
  • Opportunity to work with cutting-edge AI and cloud solutions.
  • B2B contract model or full-time model.
  • OTE range $170-180k. The salary range is determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, and alignment with market data.
  • Unlimited Vacation policy.
  • Generous health, vision, and dental insurance.
  • 401(K) matching plan.
We may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses and identifying potential inconsistencies or verification signals in application materials based on available information. These tools assist our recruitment team but do not replace human judgment. Final hiring decisions are ultimately made by humans.
