What does a business intelligence analyst do?

A business intelligence analyst or BI analyst uses data to determine a future business or market trend. Their goal is to increase a company’s efficiency and profits, using data mining and analysis to find the information they need for reporting. This information can help a company to analyze a trend so that they can stay ahead of their competitors. Most of the work that a business intelligence analyst does is on a computer. People in BI may also explore current conditions so they can see how a company is doing in the present. Once they compile the information, an analyst shares it with the necessary departments.

These competencies are essential for driving informed decision-making and delivering measurable value to organizations.

How does a business intelligence analyst typically collaborate with other departments within an organization?

Business Intelligence Analysts work closely with various departments such as marketing, finance, operations, and IT to understand their data needs and provide actionable insights. They often participate in cross-functional meetings to discuss reporting requirements, develop dashboards, and interpret data trends.
