Practice Overview

The Conflict Management team is responsible for performing high-level client risk / reputation / high-profile / strategic assessments, analyzing and clearing legal and commercial conflicts of interest, and assisting with RFPs.

Role Overview:

Ankura Consulting is looking for a full-time Conflict Analyst who will be responsible for managing the firm's conflict management function by ensuring: the timely processing of conflict checks, potential risks are identified and resolved, and new engagements are aligned with the firm's policies and strategies. This role will work either US mountain time hours (830AM-530PM MST) or US pacific time hours (830AM-530PM PST) with occasional weekend coverage. This role is ideally hybrid based, but there is potential for fully remote work based on candidate qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day conflict check operations, including processing daily conflict checks, overseeing the conflict queue and attending to all checks in progress to ensure timely and accurate processing, ensuring compliance with established procedures, and maintaining data integrity.

  • Assume increasing responsibility over time for the training of new team members.

  • Ensure high standards for customer service are met, including 24-hour turn-around for initial conflict checks and coverage for after-hours/urgent responses.

  • Ensure high level of quality control is maintained, including data accuracy and integrity in the conflict system, sufficient intake documentation is stored, and routine evaluation of conflict checks in process to close outdated leads.

  • Perform conflict of interest/business relationship analyses via a conflicts analytics tool, using firm policies and procedures as guidance in issue identification and ensuring sufficient information is gathered to perform a thorough analysis, which may involve discussions with senior staff and independent research through external sources, including Pacer and other sources as needed.

  • Assist with other Conflict Management initiatives and duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ year of experience in conflicts analysis, client intake, AML, in the legal field, or related experience

  • Ability to identify and analyze complex issues (critical thinking)

  • Strong research skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail

  • Strong supervision and staff management skills

  • Ability to work efficiently with a high degree of accuracy

  • In depth understanding of conflict of interests and new client intake principles

  • General understanding of the legal and/or business consulting industries preferred

  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Acrobat)

  • Experience with InTapp Open or similar conflict software

  • Boolean search logic experience is essential

  • Must be a team player who is comfortable in a small team and highly collaborative environment

  • Must be flexible and willing to learn new skills and assist with duties and initiatives as they arise

This compensation range is specific to the said markets and considers a broad range of factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The range does not include additional benefits outside of salary. At Ankura, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each role. A reasonable estimate of the current base pay range is between $70,000 to $90,000; this range is not a promise of a particular wage.
