Position Title Dean of Business, Information Technology & Culinary Arts

Job Duties

The Dean of Business, Information Technology & Culinary Arts shall be responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of all curriculum and instruction within the division as it relates to the total college instructional program.

The Dean is responsible for the leadership and management of Accounting, Business Administration, Culinary Arts, Cyber Security, Engineering Technology, Internetworking Management, Marketing, and Software Development.

The BICA division supports all workforce, internships, apprenticeships, and transfer needs for credit and non-credit instruction as appropriate.

This position promotes communication, community, and collaboration within the division and across the college, advocates for faculty and department goals, facilitates communication between the administration, faculty and staff, and supports student recruiting and retention efforts. The Dean works under the supervision of the Executive Dean of Academics & Workforce Partnerships.

Qualifications

Required knowledge and skills

A. Strong leadership and communication, conflict resolution, and relationship-building skills.

B. Ability to lead complex academic organizations with clarity and confidence, ensuring cohesion, continuity, and alignment across programs and initiatives.

C. Must have knowledge of course, degree, program, and site scheduling process and be able to effectively schedule division courses.

D. Must have knowledge of budgeting processes and be able to develop and administer departmental budgets.

E. Must have knowledge of academic affairs operations and be able to articulate key processes to Butler stakeholders.

F. Must have evaluation skills in measuring outcomes as they relate to the goals of academic affairs.

Required experience

A. Teaching experience preferred, preferably at the community college level.

B. 3-5 years of administrator experience, preferably at the community college level or other post-secondary education level.

C. Budget and finance experience.

Required educational background

A. Master’s degree within a discipline represented in CTE , or a field closely related to CTE , is required.

B. Doctorate is preferred.
