They initiate contact with potential clients—primarily through cold calls, emails, and networking—to generate interest in a company's products or services. BDRs play a crucial role in the early stages of the sales cycle by identifying business opportunities and helping to grow the customer base. The position often serves as an entry point to a career in sales or business development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a business development representative?

These capabilities are crucial for identifying new business opportunities, building client relationships, and driving company growth.

FieldFlo Business Development Representative Denver, CO·Full time Company website Apply for Business Development Representative

We’re growing fast and need a driven Business Development Representative to fuel our pipeline and help build a world‑class sales engine from the ground up.

About FieldFlo

FieldFlō is a management platform purpose‑built for specialty subcontractors in construction and field services. We help trade contractors streamline operations, strengthen safety, and gain real‑time project visibility. We are rapidly scaling, and our customers are at the heart of what we do.

Description

About FieldFlo

FieldFlo builds the software that keeps specialty subcontractors running. Our all‑in‑one platform is purpose‑built for demolition, asbestos abatement, and environmental remediation contractors—the people doing some of the most complex, compliance‑heavy work in construction. We handle everything from project management and scheduling to safety, certifications, time tracking, and job costing, so crews in the field and teams in the office are always working from the same page. Founded by subcontractors who lived the inefficiencies firsthand, we build what we wished had existed—and we’re on a mission to make life easier for every specialty contractor we serve.

The Opportunity

We’re growing fast and need a driven Business Development Representative to fuel our pipeline and help build a world‑class sales engine from the ground up. As one of our first BDRs, you’ll sit at the top of the funnel, generating interest, qualifying leads, and setting high‑quality meetings for our Account Executives. If you thrive in early‑stage environments where you help write the playbook rather than just run it, this role was built for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive pipeline through outbound prospecting including high‑quality, high‑volume cold calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and event follow‑up.
  • Book qualified meetings and demos for Account Executives by identifying the right stakeholders and compelling reasons to engage.
  • Execute outbound playbooks across calling, email, and social—then help build and refine the playbook as we grow.
  • Research prospects within FieldFlo’s ideal customer profile, finding contact information and the best paths to reach them.
  • Educate prospects on FieldFlo’s platform and outcomes, tailoring messaging to real construction workflows and pain points.
  • Track and maintain accurate activity, notes, and lead data in HubSpot.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership and Sales Operations on projects that support pipeline performance and team efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to learn fast and grow your sales career.

What You Bring (Required)

  • 1+ years of experience in a business development, sales development, or similar outbound sales role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle objections and stay persistent
  • Demonstrated ability to work a structured sales process with strong organization and follow‑through
  • Self‑starter mindset with curiosity, a solutions‑first approach, and comfort working through ambiguity
  • Team‑oriented, high‑energy, and coachable—you want to grow and are open to feedback
  • High drive to build a sales career at a fast‑growing early‑stage company

Nice to Have (Preferred)

  • Experience in construction, field service, or software sales
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, or related field (equivalent experience accepted)
  • Familiarity with FieldFlo or similar field management or construction software

55-65K annually + Variable (performance based pay)

  • 401(k)
  • FTO (Flex Time Off)
  • Hybrid flexibility (Denver, CO)
  • Cell-phone and internet stipend

Life at FieldFlo

We were built by contractors, for contractors—and that shapes the way we work. We’re a small, focused team that moves fast, ships real solutions, and genuinely cares about the people our software serves. We value direct communication, a strong work ethic, and the kind of ownership mindset that doesn’t wait to be asked.

The Sales team operates with high autonomy and a startup mentality—you’ll help shape the process, own your outcomes, and have a direct line to leadership. No politics, no ego. Just a smart, honest, supportive team building something real.

Equal Opportunity Employer

FieldFlo is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
