Job description

Amphenol PCD is seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Manager to lead growth initiatives across the Eastern United States. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities, expanding customer relationships, and driving design-in and break-in activities across APCD's product portfolio.
Working closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Distribution partners, the Business Development Manager will identify and qualify opportunities, support customer engagements, develop proposals, and help convert opportunities into revenue growth. This position plays a key role in expanding APCD's presence within the aerospace, defense, industrial, and other high-reliability markets.
Job Summary
Lead business development activities for APCD product lines within an assigned territory. Drive technology adoption and customer pipeline development aligned with strategic business objectives. Generate and qualify leads, develop proposals, and close business opportunities in support of revenue growth targets. Leverage existing Amphenol sales resources and distribution channels to increase account penetration and opportunity generation.
Essential Functions
  • Lead account development, design-in, and break-in activities across APCD product lines.
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships that lead to new business opportunities and long-term growth.
  • Partner with Sales and Sales Management to identify, develop, and close new opportunities within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of short-, medium-, and long-term business opportunities aligned with territory objectives.
  • Forecast monthly orders and bookings while analyzing business results and implementing actions to achieve growth targets.
  • Identify market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities.
  • Manage proposal response activities, including review of customer requirements, development of technical and commercial content, and coordination of cross-functional inputs.
  • Support the development of sales collateral, customer presentations, product training, and marketing materials.
  • Represent APCD at trade shows, customer visits, industry events, and technical presentations.
  • Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting, and pipeline management activities.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory and internationally as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, Product Marketing, Engineering, Account Management, or a related customer-facing role.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to time-sensitive customer and business needs.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%, including occasional international travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering preferred.
  • Experience supporting customers within the aerospace, defense, military, industrial, electronics, or other highly engineered manufacturing industries.
  • Military service or military industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience with interconnect products, connectors, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, electrical distribution systems, or related technologies.
  • Previous experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, or customer-facing engineering roles.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, customer requirements, RFIs, and RFPs.
  • Experience developing sales plans, budgets, forecasts, and opportunity pipelines.
  • Familiarity with structured sales processes, CRM systems, and pipeline management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify customer needs and translate technical capabilities into business opportunities.
    The annual base salary range for this role is $118,000 - $140,000, plus bonus. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. PCD considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
