Business Development Manager – Property Management Growth

PMI Southeast CT is a leading residential property management company serving southeastern Connecticut and surrounding markets. We help property owners maximize returns and protect their investments through professional, full‑service management.

We are seeking a licensed Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead the growth of our residential property management portfolio while also maintaining an active real estate sales practice.

Role Overview

This is a relationship‑driven business development role focused primarily on acquiring new residential property management accounts (PMA).

You will be responsible for identifying property owners, building trust‑based relationships, and converting them into long‑term management clients through consultative sales.

In addition, this role requires maintaining an active real estate license and continued residential sales activity in alignment with individual goals and market activity, with an expected benchmark of approximately 6 closings per year.

This role does not include leasing responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Source and develop new residential property management opportunities (PMA growth)
  • Identify and engage property owners, investors, and absentee landlords
  • Build and maintain strong referral relationships with real estate professionals and industry partners
  • Present and close property management agreements through consultative sales conversations
  • Develop and manage a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Drive ongoing business development through networking, outreach, and market engagement
  • Maintain active real estate production aligned with personal goals and market opportunities
  • Leverage real estate activity to generate additional property management opportunities
  • Track all sales activity and pipeline progress through a structured system (CRM)
  • Collaborate with internal team to ensure smooth onboarding of new management clients
Qualifications
  • Active Connecticut Real Estate License (required within 6 months)
  • Strong understanding of investment properties and rental markets preferred
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills
  • Self‑motivated with strong discipline and accountability
  • Comfortable managing long‑term, relationship‑based sales cycles
  • Ability to work independently with local market travel as needed
