Job description

Xpedient is a full-service 3rd party logistics provider delivering primarily in dedicated warehousing and trucking, with some network design consulting and final mile. We have experience helping a diverse client base in warehousing services, transportation management, supply chain management, order fulfillment and labor needs.

Summary

Director of Business Development reporting to the Senior VP of Sales of an asset-based logistics provider in U.S. and Canada. This position will focus on manufacturers with Business to Business and growing into Business to Consumer and wholesalers.

Job Requirements:

  • Spearhead the growth & strategic direction of Commercial Contract Logistics, and Labor Solutions sales activity for the Americas & Canada.
  • Actively pursue valued business opportunities to qualify leads and customer needs, resulting in solution recommendation, market penetration, negotiation, and pricing.
  • Long-term goals include new business development, account revenue growth (domestic and international) and increasing account responsibility (array of products and level of relationship).
  • Will be a commercial business development expert
  • Coordinates complete sales cycle process including prospect list initiation, lead generation, prospect qualification, analysis, pricing, proposal preparation and presentation(s), contract signing, start-up and customer service follow-up after the sale.
  • Challenge is to expand account base, increase revenues and improve profitability in different industry verticals.
  • Perform other office duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years sales/account/solutions management experience in third-party logistics and/or supply chain
  • Demonstrated ability closing and managing large account business and organic growth of existing accounts
  • Business planning (budget, forecasting)
  • Direct the pricing proposal and contract negotiation approval process. (RFI, RFQ, RFP)
  • Review quarterly plan (revenue targets, margin integrity, “value stream” analysis)
  • Computer literate (Office Suite, Power Point, Word, Excel)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Marketing, Business, Communications or related.
  • Travel: Up to 50%+ depending on needs of the organization
  • Residence: Remote
  • Executive level presentation and engagement skills
  • Possess a proactive approach with strong customer service orientation
