Job description

Business Development Representative

Industrial & Infrastructure Sales

Location: Lake Forest, CA | Full-Time | In-Office

The Opportunity

United Industries Group, Inc. (UIG) is looking for a motivated Business Development Representative to join our team at our corporate headquarters in Lake Forest.

UIG designs, manufactures and constructs large-scale engineered storage systems for data centers, municipal water and wastewater systems, fire protection, industrial facilities, food and beverage plants, power facilities and other critical infrastructure projects throughout the U.S. and internationally.

This is not typical transactional sales. You will work directly with UIG leadership to identify new projects and opportunities, connect with the engineers and contractors behind them, build strategic relationships and help position UIG to win new business.

Our projects range from mission-critical data centers and municipal water infrastructure to major industrial facilities and international projects. If you're curious, competitive and enjoy opening doors and turning conversations into opportunities, this is a chance to build a career in high-value technical sales.

What You'll Do

Your focus is simple: help UIG build a larger, stronger pipeline of qualified opportunities.

  • Research upcoming projects, target companies and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct daily outreach to engineering firms, general contractors, mechanical and fire protection contractors, municipalities, developers and other prospective customers and partners.
  • Execute targeted email, phone, LinkedIn and account-based sales campaigns.
  • Build relationships with engineers, estimators, project managers and construction professionals.
  • Help position UIG and our products early in the design process to become specified or approved for future projects.
  • Coordinate with UIG's nationwide network of independent sales representatives.
  • Track opportunities, contacts, project intelligence and follow-up activity in our CRM.
  • Work with UIG's engineering and estimating teams as opportunities develop.

What We're Looking For

We want someone who does more than work through a contact list. When you identify a project, your instinct should be to figure out who is designing it, who is building it, which contractors are pursuing it, who is making the decisions and how UIG can become part of the opportunity.

The right person is professional, articulate, persistent and organized. You should be comfortable reaching out to new people, researching companies and projects, building relationships, managing multiple opportunities and consistently following up.

Previous B2B sales, business development, construction, manufacturing or related experience is preferred. A bachelor's degree is also preferred.

Tank industry experience is not required. We can teach you our products and markets. We're looking for someone with the communication skills, curiosity, initiative and drive to become highly effective in our business.

About UIG

Founded in 1969, United Industries Group, Inc. specializes in the engineering, custom manufacturing and turnkey construction of above-ground storage systems.

You'll work alongside company leadership, engineers and project professionals and have the opportunity to see the business you help develop move from an initial conversation to an engineered solution and ultimately a completed project.

For someone looking to grow beyond traditional inside sales and build a career in technical, construction and infrastructure business development, UIG offers a unique opportunity to learn, contribute and grow.
