St. Croix Health is looking for an HR Business Partner to join our team of dedicated HR professionals working in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment! This full-time position (1.0FTE), will typically work Monday - Friday, day hours.  

This role is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and leadership across the organization. The position formulates partnerships specific to the HR function, but inclusive of closely aligned people functions of education, organizational development, and process improvement, to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Strategic and consultative partnerships 

  • Build a strategic partnership and relationship with dedicated internal leaders. 
  • Works closely with leadership and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Gives feedback to leadership and uses the feedback to improve HR procedures and service; works closely with People/OD work partners in continuous improvement of People functions for the organization.

Performance Management & Employee Relations

  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
  • Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance by leadership (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

Compliance and Regulatory 

  • Annual state and federal reporting 
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. 
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required

Organization Policy and Procedures

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Suggest new procedures and policies to continually improve efficiency of the People and Organizational Development umbrella of work and organization, and to improve employee experience
  • Assist in developing and executing personnel procedures and policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations

Recruiting and Onboarding 

  • Serves as subject matter expert in enterprise-wide people systems guided through the People/OD function
  • Support overall recruitment process from start to finish, onboarding, off-boarding, and employee life cycle processes
  • Conducts pre-employment and recruitment screenings 
  • Partner with leadership regarding recruitment strategies 

Data Metrics

  • Gather and analyze data in all HR related systems (HRIS, LMS, etc.)
  • Identifies and analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the People/OD group to develop strategies, opportunities, solutions, programs and policies.
  • Participate in development of People/OD objectives and systems, including metrics, queries, and standard reports for ongoing company requirements

Requirements

 Education & Licensure:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or closely related field with an HR or Organizational Development focus preferred; or
  • Associate's degree in Human Resources or closely related field with 8-10 years experience in Human Resources function; 
  • Professional HR Certification is preferred

Experience: 

  •  5-8 years of experience in advanced HR Practitioner role preferred.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Equivalent of education/experience

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
