Job description

Business Development Representative
Work hours: Monday- Thursday 9am to 5pm & Friday 9am to 6pm.
*Some after-hours and weekend work required
Purpose
The primary function of this position is to develop new business for the credit union. Cultivate new relationships and maintain existing relationships for all areas of corporate sponsorship including members, auto dealers, RV, boat and motorcycle dealers, realtors etc.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop contact lists of potential new members, dealers, SEGs, and brokers in the credit union's field of membership.
  • Contact and make visits to prospective members, dealers, brokers, SEGs or realtors to present information about the credit union's available services such as lending products, deposit accounts, lines of credit, online banking etc.
  • Attend meetings within the community and trade associations to develop new business relationships and promote the credit union.
  • Make presentations about financial services to groups to promote credit union products.
  • Contact potential member base using a variety of methods and follow up methods; phone calls, site visits, letters, emails and direct mail campaigns.
  • Maintain up-to-date contact tracking tool/database.
  • Review and analyze methods that are successful in developing business. Assess products that best meet member needs.
  • Promote all products and services with cross-selling to meet members or SEGs' needs.
  • Develop an understanding of credit union history, philosophy, organization, bylaws and operations procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Must be flexible to work overtime as needed (may include after hours or weekends).
