Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager collects and analyzes data from various EHS systems and database to produce and analyze data on patient demographics, utilization patterns, and clinical outcomes to identify opportunities for growth and expansion. Assess, validate and investigate barriers in accessing EHS services and providers. Drive growth for targeted EHS service lines by advancing relationships with local physicians (employed as well as independent) and other local healthcare entities ensuring compliance with all external and internal EHS regulations. Provide managerial coordination and execution of local activities, programs and educational events that promote and support EHS services. Communicate changes in local physician coverage and hospital services, responding with a framework to capitalize on potential opportunities. Work closely with representatives from finance, legal, information technology, marketing and service line leadership to take advantage of the synergy associated with multi-disciplinary team approach to business development. Identify and nurture opportunities for physician recruitment. Provide managerial coordination and execution of local activities, programs and educational events that promote and support EHS services.
Education:
Required:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Preferred:
MHA or MBA
Experience:
Minimum of 5 or more years in a healthcare or hospital business development or healthcare analytics position.
Previous demonstrated leadership experience. Knowledge of health care delivery systems, both acute and ambulatory. Experience in analytics, physician relations, and service excellence. Experience utilizing strong communication skills and multi-project coordination. Past successes in developing and leading growth initiatives. Demonstrated ability in leading or facilitating teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Employee Competency and Performance Assessment
The Business Development Manager {BDM} will represent Erlanger Health System to local providers, facilities and agencies. The BDM is responsible to achieve the business growth initiatives of EHS through the direct promotion and advancement of EHS employed physicians and EHS product lines and services. Work closely with Executive Leadership and Service Line Administrators to develop initiatives that result in increased targeted market share and enhanced quality and resource utilization (value creation).
Core responsibilities:
Provide managerial coordination and execution of local development initiatives, activities and programs that promote and support EHS. Produce, review and analyze internal and external market data, responding with an action plan to address opportunities. Stay current on industry trends and changes that may impact EHS's business development efforts. Work collaboratively with Service Line Teams to create reports and assess market trends and competitors to inform strategic planning and business development efforts. Maintain strong local presence via travel in the local market for the maintenance and growth of market share. Determine the fiscal needs of the department and submit budget recommendations.
