General Summary:

One of the world's most productive Intellectual Property organizations has an opportunity within its IP Operations Team for a highly analytical, detail-oriented professional. This role plays a critical part in supporting financial planning, analytics, and operational excellence across the Intellectual Property Department. The ideal candidate is an analyst who enjoys transforming complex and diverse datasets into actionable insights, supporting strategic decision-making in a collaborative, cross-functional environment. As an Analyst within the IP Operations Team, you will develop and maintain key operating and expense metrics, produce financial and management reporting, enhance planning models, and drive process improvements. You will also serve as the primary owner of the department's legal eBilling system, partnering with finance and business stakeholders to ensure accurate data, efficient workflows, and meaningful insights. This position requires a high degree of independence, attention to detail, and comfort working with senior stakeholders across legal, finance, and engineering organizations.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for the department's legal eBilling system TyMetrix360, including reporting, data integrity, and process improvements.
  • Analyze data from multiple internal and external sources to support ongoing operational initiatives, financial modeling, and strategic projects.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance operating dashboards, reports, and analytic tools used by IP leadership.
  • Support corporate finance and accounting activities related to fiscal period close, forecasting, and budget tracking.
  • Respond to ad-hoc analytic requests with accurate, well-structured, and clearly communicated outputs.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reporting efficiency, and analytical processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field.
OR
Associate's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field and 2+ years of related business process analysis experience.
OR
High School Diploma or equivalent and 3+ years of related business process analysis experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a quantitative or analytical discipline such as Finance, Information Management, Business, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property, patents, or the patent lifecycle, particularly in a corporate or legal operations environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in an analytics, finance, operations, or data-centric role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, data modeling) and PowerPoint for executive-level reporting.
  • Experience with business intelligence or planning platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, TM1).
  • Proven ability to deliver accurate results independently while managing multiple priorities.
  • Experience working with financial systems, legal systems, or large operational datasets.
  • Experience with budget planning (accounting protocols, expense accruals, prepaid accounts, etc.).

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:
$70,600.00 - $106,000.00
The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm.
