Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Senior Manager, Software Engineering to lead the strategy, architecture, and execution of our Mobile Native Experiences and UI Runtime Platform. This leader will be responsible for building and scaling the foundational mobile technologies that power high-quality, performant, and accessible customer experiences across iOS and Android applications.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in native mobile development, platform engineering, UI frameworks, runtime architecture, and developer productivity with strong people leadership skills. They will lead multiple engineering teams responsible for mobile UI infrastructure, runtime services, design system enablement, rendering technologies, performance optimization, and next-generation mobile platform capabilities.

This role requires close partnership with Product Management, Design Systems, Architecture, Infrastructure, and business application teams to deliver scalable, reusable platform solutions that accelerate innovation across the organization.

Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Strategy
  • Define and drive the multi-year technical vision, strategy, and roadmap for mobile native experiences and UX runtime platforms.
  • Lead the evolution of foundational mobile frameworks, UI architecture, rendering engines, runtime capabilities, and developer tooling.
  • Establish engineering standards, architectural principles, and platform governance across iOS and Android ecosystems.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, and industry trends to improve developer velocity, application performance, and customer experience.
  • Drive modernization efforts including component-based architectures, declarative UI paradigms, runtime optimization, and platform scalability.
Platform & Architecture Ownership
  • Own the architecture and delivery of shared mobile platform capabilities including:
    • UI runtime frameworks
    • Design system implementation
    • Native component libraries
    • Rendering infrastructure
    • Navigation frameworks
    • State management solutions
    • Accessibility frameworks
    • Performance instrumentation
    • Developer productivity tools
  • Ensure platform solutions support extensibility, reliability, maintainability, security, and scalability requirements.
  • Lead technical reviews and architectural decision-making for critical platform initiatives.
  • Drive cross-platform consistency while enabling native‑first customer experiences.
Engineering Execution
  • Manage multiple engineering teams and technical leads responsible for mobile platform and runtime development.
  • Establish delivery processes that balance innovation, quality, and execution excellence.
  • Ensure successful planning, prioritization, and execution of large‑scale platform initiatives.

Qualifications Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience in mobile application development.
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience leading managers and senior technical teams.
  • Deep expertise in native mobile platforms (iOS and/or Android).
  • Strong understanding of mobile UI frameworks and architecture patterns.
  • Experience building and scaling platform engineering teams and shared technology platforms.
  • Proven experience leading large‑scale technical transformations and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of software architecture, distributed systems, and engineering best practices.
  • Demonstrated success influencing cross‑functional stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with modern UI technologies such as SwiftUI, Jetpack Compose, React Native infrastructure, or hybrid runtime platforms.
  • Expertise in design systems, component frameworks, and UI platform architecture.
  • Experience building rendering engines, runtime frameworks, or developer platform tooling.
  • Knowledge of performance engineering, observability, accessibility, and mobile security.
  • Experience operating platforms at enterprise scale supporting multiple product teams.
  • Background in cloud‑native services supporting mobile experiences.
  • Experience with AI‑powered developer productivity and intelligent UI generation capabilities.
Salary Range

Southern California: $206,500 - $279,000.
