Business Assistants help ensure that daily operations run smoothly, allowing other team members to focus on their core responsibilities. They may also be involved in bookkeeping, travel arrangements, and customer service, depending on the needs of the organization.

What does a business assistant do?

A business assistant takes care of everyday tasks and operations. You can find these positions in a variety of industries, from an office or school to a medical facility or government agency. As a business assistant, your job duties include basic accounting, ordering supplies, coordinating the use of the office space, proofreading documents, and making photocopies. You need excellent organizational and computer skills and experience in an office environment. There are minimal education qualifications for this career. Many employers accept a high school diploma or GED certificate.

Job description

Front Desk / Business Assistant

Are you looking for a career where your impact is felt every day? Do you take ownership of your work, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and excel in a team that values your organization skills, top notch communication, and outstanding attention to detail? If so, we want to meet you.

Our patient and employee-centered dental practice in De Pere, WI, is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Front Desk & Business Assistant to become a core part of our team. This position will allow you to make your mark on every aspect of our office with ample training alongside our current front desk member as she nears retirement, ensuring a smooth transition.

Why This Role Matters:

This position is more than just answering phones and scheduling appointments—you are the glue that keeps our practice running smoothly. From the moment a patient walks in to the time they leave, your role touches nearly every part of their experience. You’ll be deeply involved in scheduling, communication, patient coordination, payments, and insurance, ensuring everything flows seamlessly for both our team and our patients.

What You’ll Own:

  • Keeping Our Team Connected – Ensure smooth communication between patients, providers, and staff.
  • Creating a Welcoming Environment – Be the first and last impression for every patient visit. We pride ourselves in being “the friendliest people on the planet” and you will be the first impression for our patients.
  • Managing the Schedule – Keep appointments running efficiently while accommodating patient and practice needs. Keep the clinical team updated with relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Handling Patient & Insurance Payments – Process payments in-office and by phone.
  • Supporting Patients with Paperwork & Information – Gather necessary documents, help verify insurance details, and confirm appointments.
  • Being Involved in Every Aspect of the Practice – Your fingerprints will be on countless day-to-day operations and one off projects, making everything run smoothly.

Who You Are:

  • A Problem-Solver – You take initiative, anticipate needs, and find ways to improve processes.
  • An Outstanding Communicator – You’re the bridge between patients and our team, ensuring clarity and efficiency.
  • Highly Organized & Detail-Oriented – You juggle multiple tasks without letting anything slip through the cracks. You can jump from wearing one hat to another very quickly.
  • A Team Player – You thrive in a role where everything you do supports the success of others.
  • Experienced in a Front Desk or Dental Setting (Preferred, But Not Required) – Familiarity with Dentrix is a plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn matter most.

Why You’ll Love Being Here:

  • A Role That Matters – You’ll be a key player in the success of our practice, involved in almost every aspect of the business.
  • A Supportive & Positive Team – Work in an environment where you are appreciated and valued for what you do.
  • Competitive Pay & Benefits – Including, but not limited to, compensation, PTO/holiday pay, dental benefits, and potential monthly team bonuses.
  • Long-Term Stability & Growth – This is a career, not just a job. You’ll have time to learn, grow, and make the role your own.

We can’t wait to meet the newest essential team member who will help make our practice the best it can be!
