Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with Mainframe expertise to join our team in McLean, VA. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience gathering business requirements, translating them into functional specifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise-scale technology solutions. Experience working in Agile environments, along with exposure to Salesforce platforms and customer-facing applications, is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements gathering workshops and stakeholder meetings across business, product, and technology teams.
  • Analyze and document business processes, functional requirements, and system specifications.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate closely with development, QA, UX, and Mainframe technical teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements.
  • Support Agile ceremonies, including backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, Mainframe development teams, Salesforce implementation teams, and mobile application teams.
  • Ensure complete traceability between business objectives, functional requirements, and delivered solutions.
  • Perform impact analysis for change requests and maintain up-to-date project documentation.
  • Validate delivered functionality through requirement reviews and user acceptance testing (UAT) support.
  • Facilitate communication among cross-functional teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Required Skills Qualifications
  • 10+ years of Business Analyst experience on large-scale enterprise applications.
  • Strong experience working with Mainframe applications (COBOL, CICS, DB2, JCL, VSAM, IMS, or related technologies).
  • Proven expertise in requirements elicitation, business process analysis, and documentation.
  • Experience translating business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing or member-facing digital platforms, preferably in the Banking or Financial Services domain.
  • Experience working on Salesforce-based programs, preferably Experience Cloud, Loyalty Cloud, or similar CRM platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile documentation tools.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with business users, technical teams, vendors, and project leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating Mainframe systems with modern web or cloud-based applications.
  • Exposure to Salesforce CRM implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and enterprise application architecture.
  • Experience supporting UAT, production releases, and change management activities.
  • Banking, Financial Services, or Mortgage domain experience is highly desirable.
