Bus persons, also known as bussers, are restaurant staff members responsible for clearing tables, refilling water glasses, resetting tables, and assisting servers in maintaining a clean and organized dining environment. They play a crucial role in ensuring that the dining area is tidy and ready for new guests. Bus persons may also help with other tasks such as restocking supplies and supporting the waitstaff during busy periods.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Bus Person, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Bus Person, you need strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and basic food safety knowledge, typically gained through on-the-job training or previous hospitality experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cleaning equipment is often required in busy restaurant environments. Excellent teamwork, a positive attitude, and clear communication help Bus Persons stand out when interacting with servers and guests.
