Job Summary
As a Bus Driver at Ivy Kids, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from the childcare center and maintaining a positive and nurturing environment during transit. This position requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to children's safety and well-being.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during transportation, including proper use of safety restraints, monitoring behavior, and maintaining a calm and secure atmosphere.
  • Develop and follow designated routes for transporting children to and from the childcare center.
  • Perform daily checks on the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition, reporting any issues or concerns to the Center Director.
  • Be prepared to handle emergencies or accidents during transit, including knowledge of emergency procedures, first aid, and evacuation protocols.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude when interacting with children and staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to bus safety, child passenger safety, and other relevant topics to enhance job performance and ensure compliance with state regulations.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings.
Qualifications
  • High energy and self-motivated individual
  • Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.
  • Must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
