Job Summary

As a Bus Driver at Ivy Kids, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of children to and from the childcare center and maintaining a positive and nurturing environment during transit. This position requires excellent driving skills, strong communication abilities, and a genuine commitment to children's safety and well-being.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the safety and well-being of all children during transportation, including proper use of safety restraints, monitoring behavior, and maintaining a calm and secure atmosphere.

Develop and follow designated routes for transporting children to and from the childcare center.

Perform daily checks on the bus to ensure it is in proper working condition, reporting any issues or concerns to the Center Director.

Be prepared to handle emergencies or accidents during transit, including knowledge of emergency procedures, first aid, and evacuation protocols.

Demonstrate professionalism, patience, and a positive attitude when interacting with children and staff.

Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities related to bus safety, child passenger safety, and other relevant topics to enhance job performance and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Attend staff meetings and trainings.

Qualifications

High energy and self-motivated individual

Must be able to repeatedly bend, stoop and run; must repeatedly lift and carry children up to 50+ pounds.

Must maintain at least 24 hours of training each year.
