Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-conscious General Operator - Copper Department to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will work with copper materials to fabricate, prepare, and assemble components that are critical to our power distribution equipment. This is a hands-on position that involves material handling, machine operation, and quality checks in a fast-paced production environment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Copper Fabrication Support: Assist in the fabrication of copper bus bars and components by operating equipment such as punch presses, benders, or saws according to work instructions.
  • Material Handling: Move copper materials and parts to designated work areas using carts, hoists, or forklifts, ensuring proper storage and handling.
  • Preparation & Assembly: Prepare copper parts for assembly including deburring, cleaning, and inspecting surfaces to meet quality and safety requirements.
  • Machine Operation: Operate basic production equipment and tools to shape, punch, or bend copper materials to required specifications.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Complete production reports and ensure traceability of components throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Quality & Inspection: Perform basic quality checks on fabricated parts; report any defects or non-conformances to the appropriate personnel.
  • Safety & Housekeeping: Follow all safety protocols, wear appropriate PPE, and help maintain a clean and organized workspace.
 

What You Bring

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred, especially working with metals or fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, blueprints, or basic technical drawings.
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, and industrial machinery.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle heavy materials safely and efficiently.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to cross-train and support different production areas as needed.
