LEGACY EARLY COLLEGE OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College is a K4-12 public charter school that originated through the vision of businessman William Brown in 2009 with an unwavering focus on "To and Through College" at every grade level. Legacy's model combines academics, nutrition, physical fitness, and mental health. In addition to our college-driven academic standards, meals are made on site, scholars participate in PE every day, and Social-Emotional Literacy is integrated into the culture and curriculum. POSITION OVERVIEW
Legacy Early College ("Legacy") is looking for a Bus Driver to be responsible for the efficiency, safety, and professional operations of assigned Transportation Services equipment and vehicles, primarily responsible for attending to student transportation and parent customer service.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties
  • Provide quality customer service to all individuals, including students, employees, and guests.
  • Positively represent Legacy Early College in operating bus resources, bus schedules, bus routes, bus driver training, student bus requests, educational field trips, and athletic transportation.
  • Organize and maintain the cleanliness of buses and equipment.
  • Follow the published written weekly work schedule.
  • Maintain the bus drivers' in and out on the log.
  • Enter attendance in the designated computer software.
  • Participate in training certifications and safety compliance of LEC bus drivers and transportation equipment.
  • Ensure the environment is safe for scholars by circulating and proactively monitoring for safety concerns.
  • Fill out proper incident forms in case of an accident.
  • Report the cleaning/supplies and materials needed on the designated form.
  • Report maintenance needs on the designated form.
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications
  • Meet all requirements to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Meet all requirements to obtain a CDL Class B with Air Brakes, Passenger & School Bus Endorsements.
  • Have no more than 4 points against the current driving record in the previous twelve months.
  • The license may not be suspended for a moving violation within the previous 5 years.
  • Pass a Department of Transportation physical examination.
  • Test negative for alcohol and drugs.
  • Have a minimum of twelve (12) months of driving experience.
  • Submit to a criminal background check.
