ROLE OVERVIEW

The Material Handler plays a critical role in supporting the manufacturing line by ensuring materials are received, stored, replenished, and delivered accurately and efficiently to production areas. This position is responsible for maintaining material flow throughout the facility, supporting inventory accuracy, preventing production shortages, and promoting a safe, organized, and efficient work environment. The Material Handler works closely with Production, Inventory Control, Purchasing, Receiving, and Warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when, where and in the quantity they are needed while adhering to company quality, safety, and operational standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Material Replenishment: Ensure production areas remain stocked by delivering materials to designated points-of-use and proactively preventing shortages.
  • Inventory Control: Execute inventory transactions, verify quantities, investigate discrepancies, and support cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Material Movement: Safely receive, transport, store, and stage materials using forklifts, Turret truck, pallet jacks, and other approved material handling equipment.
  • Production Support: Partner with Production, Receiving, and Purchasing to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and customer demand.
  • Receiving Support: Assist with unloading, inspecting, identifying, and storing incoming materials in designated inventory locations.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve safety, material flow, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Physical Capability: Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, bending, and material handling activities throughout the shift.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on inventory accuracy, organization, transaction integrity and adherence to established procedures.
  • Technical Proficiency: Ability to use inventory systems, handheld scanners, tablets, and basic computer applications.
  • Communication & Teamwork: Effective communication skills in English (or actively working towards such), with the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Reliability: Dependable attendance, positive attitude, and commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement and operational excellence.
BONUS SKILLS WE PREFER
  • Material Handling Equipment Experience: Forklift certification
  • Manufacturing & Warehouse Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing, warehousing, inventory control, or production support environments.
  • Inventory Systems Knowledge: Experience with ERP systems, RF scanners, cycle counting, FIFO, Kanban, or other inventory management practices.
  • Continuous Improvement Experience: Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
