Job description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our Building Services Electrical Team.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for providing electrical engineering technical guidance and training/mentoring of junior design staff on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. In addition to working with electrical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance and engineer of record duties associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:

  • Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
  • Technical training and development of staff.
  • Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the electrical discipline area.
  • Engineer of Record.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordination with all the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • Technical interface with code officials and contractors.

  • Accomplished electrical engineer/PE with 8+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on community-based vertical construction projects.
  • Experience should include technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success, providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. Well organized, takes good notes.
