Job description

Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing electrical systems, ensuring proper conduit, wiring, fuses, and overload sizing in compliance with NEC, NFPA, and OSHA standards. This role involves diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical equipment issues, troubleshooting machine components, and implementing solutions to minimize recurring problems.
Responsibilities:
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to ensure equipment safety.
- Assist with troubleshooting production equipment by understanding plant electrical distribution.
- Operate a forklift to transport hazardous waste, equipment, or materials as needed.
- Install machinery and provide necessary electrical, compressed air, and water connections.
- Perform tasks such as threading/fitting pipes, running conduit, and pulling wires.
- Maintain cleanliness in building aisles using a floor scrubber.
- Conduct inspections of hazardous waste storage areas as required.
- Repair or replace faulty equipment components using hand and power tools.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functioning of building systems and prevent deterioration.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial maintenance technician
- Basic computer literacy
