Job description

Summary of the Role: The Building Security Guard is responsible for monitoring surveillance cameras throughout the facility and remaining alert to any suspicious or unsafe activity to support safe and efficient operations at Maitri. Security personnel also monitor facility access and professionally welcome team members, delivery personnel, and contractors on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Security & Compliance Operations

  • Patrol and monitor assigned areas to ensure the safety and security of employees, patients, visitors, and company property in accordance with state cannabis regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV), conduct routine property inspections, and maintain continuous awareness of facility activity to deter diversion, theft, and unauthorized access.
  • Verify that all restricted access points, doors, windows, vaults, and gates are secured in compliance with regulatory and company standards, particularly after business hours.

Incident Response & Reporting

  • Observe, investigate, and promptly report suspicious activities, safety concerns, or potential security breaches to management.
  • Accurately document incidents and security events in required reports and logs in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Contact and coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, or emergency medical services when necessary and as directed by management.

Access Control & Professional Conduct

  • Enforce access control procedures and escort discharged employees, trespassers, or unauthorized individuals from the premises when directed and in compliance with company protocols.
  • Maintain a professional, calm, and respectful demeanor when interacting with patients, staff, visitors, vendors, and contractors.
  • Uphold company values and represent the organization professionally at all times.

Facility Support

  • Perform light cleaning and organizational duties as assigned to maintain a safe, orderly, and compliant facility environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety, security, and compliance policies and procedures, including those specific to cannabis operations.

Other Duties

  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support efficient, compliant, and patient-focused operations.

Position Requirements:

  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass state and federal criminal background checks
  • Proficiency with technology and ability to learn new systems quickly

Physical and Environmental Requirements: 

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 25 pounds   
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday   
  • Ability to sit  for extended periods of time   
  • Extended computer usage 
  • Comfortable being under constant video surveillance 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
