Job description

Description The MAR T&D Operations Manager provides operational leadership for the Mid-Atlantic Region Transmission & Distribution practice, helping drive the growth, performance, and long-term success of the business through people, culture, and execution excellence. This role is focused on developing high-performing teams, strengthening leadership capabilities, improving operational effectiveness, and creating an environment where employee-owners can thrive. The Regional Operations Manager will partner closely with regional and global leadership to execute strategic initiatives, support sustainable growth, and advance the MAR T&D organization as an industry-leading EPC practice.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and forward-thinking leader who can successfully balance business performance, talent development, employee engagement, innovation, and client service in a fast-paced and evolving environment. Key Responsibilities + Champion and lead a strong safety culture grounded in our "Living Safer" principles and operational excellence. + Lead and develop department managers, project managers, account managers, and technical leaders across the MAR T&D organization.

+ Help shape and execute the MAR T&D business strategy, aligning people, operations, and growth initiatives with regional and global priorities. + Build and sustain a high-performance, inclusive culture that emphasizes accountability, collaboration, trust, ownership, and continuous improvement. + Drive employee engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, retention, leadership development, and overall employee experience.

+ Support the continued growth of MAR T&D's EPC capabilities by developing scalable, delivery-focused engineering and design teams. + Partner with recruiting and HR teams to attract, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional talent across all levels of the organization. + Lead workforce planning and resource management efforts to support sustainable business growth and effective project execution.

+ Advance leadership development, mentorship, career pathing, and succession planning initiatives throughout the region. + Champion innovation and continuous improvement, including the implementation of AI-enabled tools, digital workflows, and operational best practices that improve quality and efficiency. + Foster strong collaboration and alignment across Raleigh, Richmond, and Arlington offices while strengthening regional culture and connectivity.

+ Serve as a visible leader and trusted partner within the organization, helping teams navigate change, growth, and evolving business needs. + Support business development activities through client engagement, strategic relationship building, and collaboration with account and project leadership. + Drive operational and financial performance by supporting key business metrics related to growth, utilization, profitability, quality, and execution.

+ Promote transparency and effective communication across the organization through consistent engagement and feedback mechanisms. + Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program required.

+ Minimum 10 years of related experience in the T&D industry, including transmission and/or substation projects. + Previous leadership or management experience leading teams and developing people strongly preferred. + Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

+ Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, drive organizational change, and build high-performing teams. + Strong business acumen with the ability to balance operational performance, people development, and strategic growth priorities. + Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization.

+ Experience fostering employee engagement, team connectivity, and inclusive workplace culture. + Proven ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and execute effectively in a dynamic environment. + Strong planning, organizational, and operational leadership capabilities.
