Position Overview
The Hardscapes Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in the hardscape yard by managing yard associates, signage and inventory, promoting safe equipment operation and material handling, and purchasing of material.
What you'll do:
  • Maintain and promote yard safety excellence
  • Maintain yard organization and execute merchandising initiatives within the yard
  • Maintain up-to-date and clean displays, including product signage, labels, and tags
  • Manage the fleet of equipment (including skid steers, rubber tire wheel loaders, and forklifts) and arrange for equipment repairs and replacement, as needed
  • Provide direct leadership, management, and training of yard associates
  • Ensure loading and unloading excellence
  • Perform inventory cycle counts
  • Assist in ordering hardscape material
  • Conduct yearly performance reviews and development discussions
  • Partner with leadership and Field Support to understand the impact of emerging technologies and ways of working on business performance, and actively support and lead their implementation

Skills We Are Seeking
  • 3-5 years of leadership or team-building experience
  • Operations and inventory management experience preferred
  • Experience in landscape, nursery, hardscape/masonry, or irrigation industry preferred
  • Must be customer-focused and safety-minded
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be computer proficient (capable of entering orders, receiving purchase orders, sending emails, approving time, etc.)
  • Ready and willing to learn and adopt, and encourage others to learn and adopt, new technologies and ways of working
  • High school diploma or equivalent
