Job description

Join Amrize as a CAPEX Coordinator and help construct what's next. If you're ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America - we want to hear from you!

ABOUT THE ROLE
The CAPEX Coordinator provides broad energy and support for capital planning and execution for all product lines, within a sub-market in Western Canada (WCAN). This role is highly integrated with a broad range of operations staff, and business leaders, and functional staff such as Finance, Procurement, Safety, and Environment. This role coordinates plant and operations assessments, equipment utilization reviews, and business case development to drive asset optimization, cost savings, and growth opportunities. This role also involves adjacent activities such as lease management and some market intelligence aspects. You will work within a team of 3 Coordinators in Western Canada, for the Western Canada Manager but may also be assigned tasks for the sub-market SVP.   This role is critical to successful growth of our businesses and to ensuring alignment with long term strategic goals.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Create a capital and investment budget for your submarket based on revenue and re-investment guidelines.
  • Create a clear path for sustaining capex activity as well as near and long term development activity for the submarket.
  • Own the lease list in parallel with capex with the support of the Capital Delivery team and available fleet assessments.
  • Ensure rapid delivery of projects by de-bottlenecking internal and external processes and constant problem solving.
  • Drive decision making activity throughout the organization, aligned and supported by the WCAN Capital Planning & Systems manager.
  • Consistently provide monthly progress updates as required and fully support the NA Capex360 system.
  • Often provide presentation development and support for GMs and Operation Leaders as they develop their more complex growth cases with the intent to transform our organizations into one that has the ability to develop ideas into business cases and then into reality.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: Bachelors Degree.
Field of Study Preferred: Engineering or Business.
Required Work Experience: 1-5 years of relevant experience in the construction or building materials industry
Required Technical Skills: Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, SAP
Travel Requirements: 20%.

Additional Requirements:

  • High entrepreneurial spirit.

  • Ability to successfully influence others without authority.
  • Capable of working with minimal guidance to solve non-routine problems and present findings in a concise and professional manner.
  • Results orientated.
  • Ability to negotiate effectively with vendors.
  • Ability to identify unmet needs and provide technical solutions based on operational requirements.
  • Good interpersonal skills (e.g., active listening techniques).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Fact-based and analytical.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Flexible Health & Dental benefits coverage for you and your dependents
  • A generous Pension Plan designed to support you through various stages of your career and life
  • Access to voluntary programs like RRSP and TFSA for future financial planning
  • Healthy Living support through an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), offering confidential assistance for work, health, or life challenges
  • Easy access to mental health and well-being support
  • Service recognition awards to celebrate your contributions
  • Perks & discounts on a variety of products and services
  • Access to online learning platforms, financial educational assistance, and a culture that fosters career growth and opportunities
  • Financial support for new parents beyond statutory benefits
  • An inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can be themselves
  • A collaborative work culture in a supportive and team-oriented work environment
  • Company-provided personal protective equipment ensuring your safety and comfort on the job where applicable

As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
