Job description

The Outside Sales Rep (DSR) is an outside sales role tasked to develop and maintain programs and develop relationships with new customers. Owns the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with key customers in North-Northeast Tennessee/Southern Kentucky, South-Southeast Tennessee/Northern Alabama, Knoxville/Cookeville/North Chattanooga. Part of an integrated local sales team focused on delivering value to customers and achieving sales and margin growth expectations. Ensures superior value is delivered to customers in support of primary demand efforts. Responsible for promoting and selling Distribution's full range of products, including engineered wood, commodities, and specialty building products.
Responsibilities include:
  • Establishes, cultivates, and protects the dealer relationship and buyer relationship with assigned customers.
  • Coordinates customer strategies in support of delivering superior value to customers and growing wallet-share and profitability.
  • Uses market knowledge, relationships, and growing experience to seek out opportunities with new and existing customers for Distribution's full range of products.
  • Gathers market intelligence and translates it into valuable input to drive decisions around product mix, pricing, inventory levels and demand outlook. Uses that input to help drive decision-making.
  • Develops and executes marketing and communication plans with customers and local relationships with supplier partners including promotions, specials, market pull through activities, and updates to products/pricing/service.

Qualifications
  • Proven success supporting large and complex accounts, including building and maintaining key customer relationships, informing programs and promotions, and negotiating solutions to enhance profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communications skills (authentic, adaptive, persuasive).
  • Can work effectively in a CRM
  • Analyzes the customer's business and develops solutions leveraging Distribution products and services.
  • Successfully collaborates within a team environment and reaches across organizational and functional boundaries.
  • Experience with building materials products.
  • Familiarity with Distribution Center's products, their selling features/benefits, and the competitive products around them.
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum HS Diploma/GED
  • 3+ years' experience in building materials distribution and or LBM sales

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $69,000 - $104,000 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Sales Incentive Program, which offers a quarterly cash bonus.
