What this job involves:
As a Building Engineer at JLL, you'll serve as the technical backbone of our facility operations, ensuring building systems run at peak performance while delivering exceptional service to our clients. This hands-on role combines technical expertise with problem-solving skills to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair critical facility equipment across all systems. You'll be part of a team dedicated to operational excellence, working to optimize building performance, reduce energy costs, and maintain the highest safety and reliability standards. Your expertise will directly impact tenant satisfaction and building efficiency, making you an essential contributor to JLL's commitment to delivering world-class facility management solutions.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across all building systems, demonstrating technical expertise in one primary craft area (Electrical, HVAC, Piping/Plumbing, or Central Utility Plant Operations) while maintaining multi-skilled capabilities in others.
Maintain and optimize HVAC systems and equipment through regular cleaning, inspecting, and replacing parts, while recording readings and making adjustments to ensure proper operation and energy efficiency.
Respond to online service requests promptly and professionally, completing work efficiently with minimal disruption to clients and maintaining detailed documentation in the CMMS system.
Perform maintenance and monitoring repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, control, and fire life safety systems to keep all building systems compliant with applicable standards and codes.
Safely operate the facility in accordance with all government and regulatory requirements while demonstrating, enforcing, and assessing safety rules, hazards, and risks across all work activities.
Maintain a detailed inventory of parts and equipment, submitting replacement requests as necessary and ensuring all tools and materials are properly organized and accessible.
Assist the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, and Facility Management team during emergency situations such as fire alarms and hazardous conditions, taking appropriate and immediate action.
Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or state equivalent with a minimum of two years of college or related trade school education.
• Minimum of four years of verifiable experience in electrician trade or HVAC/refrigeration trade or related field with demonstrated technical proficiency.
• Universal CFC (Chlorofluorocarbon) certification as required for handling refrigerants and HVAC systems.
• Valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record for traveling between properties and obtaining parts/equipment.
• Physical capability to frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, lift a minimum of 80 lbs., stoop, and work/extend overhead, including navigating rooftops, climbing stairs, and ascending ladders with a 300-lb weight limit while carrying a 20-lb tool bag.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Thorough knowledge of building systems operations to achieve optimal operating costs (especially energy management) while meeting customer requirements and service level expectations.
• Demonstrated aptitude for and practical experience with thermodynamic, electrical, and mechanical systems, as well as computer-controlled building automation equipment.
• Working knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for documentation and work order management.
• Strong customer service orientation with the ability to respond to inquiries in a timely, professional manner and communicate technical information effectively to non-technical audiences.
• Proven ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace while consistently using proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to all safety policies, procedures, and practices.

Work Shift: 1st /Monday thru Friday

Estimated compensation for this position:
70,000.00 - 90,000.00 USD per year
This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
