What You'll Do:
  • Design, install, program, and commission building automation systems (BAS), including HVAC, lighting, access control, and energy management systems.
  • Conduct system diagnostics, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to building automation controls, sensors, actuators, and networking.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on BAS equipment and systems, including calibration, testing, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of BAS projects within budget and schedule.
  • Provide technical support and training to HVAC technicians, customers and end-users on the operation and maintenance of building automation systems.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in building automation controls and energy management.

What You'll Bring:
  • Post-high school vocational school, related on-the-job experience, or an Associate's degree is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in designing, installing, and maintaining building automation control systems, including programming and commissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of building automation protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.), HVAC systems, and electrical concepts.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting building automation controllers, such as Niagara, Tridium, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, ASI, etc.
  • Familiarity with energy management practices, sustainability, and green building standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment, and willing to work flexible hours as needed.

  • Driving Requirements
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver's license.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted.
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
