The Lafayette Engine Center in IN, has an opening for a Facilities Maintenance Supervisor on 2nd ShiftIn this role, you will be responsible for leading a maintenance team made up of skilled trades, mechanical and electrical repairs, maintenance planning, preventive maintenance programs, and apprentice & intern development. Your team will provide efficient, economical and timely services required to support the manufacturing operation. Supervises maintenance activities for facilities and infrastructures in a hardware manufacturing plant or site.
What you will do:
  • Collaborates with engineers, partners and suppliers to meet business goals in accordance with the sustainable use of facilities and budget demands.
  • Constructs an efficient facility maintenance team and guides training sessions to ensure quality performance.
  • Evaluates the operation's effectiveness with current utilities and equipment; provides appropriate solutions to challenges and risks.
  • Oversees inspections, repairs and updates of facilities and relevant operational activities; maintains order at the facility.
  • Managing a work unit including planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reviewing work of team.
  • Responsibility for expense budgets, capital forecasts and expenditures, and all personnel issues in the area including performance evaluations of team.
  • Confront complex issues and problems that require careful analysis and diagnosis and can require original approaches.
  • Provide leadership to craftsmen to meet the expectations of customers and the goals of the organization.
  • Maintain material inventory and appropriate records of special tools or repair parts and coordinates major project work to ensure completion as scheduled.

Degree Requirement:
College Degree or equivalent experience desired
Skills you will have:
Budgeting:
Working Knowledge of organization's budget process; ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
Effectiveness Measurement: Working Knowledge of effective measurement techniques and ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement.
Problem Solving: Working Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Manufacturing Application Systems: Working Knowledge of company and industry databases and applications used in a manufacturing environment; ability to operate, maintain and update these systems.
Manufacturing Equipment: Working Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; ability to safely operate, maintain, update and store them.
Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Working Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
Plant Facilities Management: Extensive Knowledge of processes, methodologies and techniques used to manage plant facilities; ability to handle the full spectrum of activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
Supplier Management - MFG: Working Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
Top Candidates will Possess:
  • Good understanding of the Caterpillar organization, products, policies, and procedures
  • A history of delivering results through a series of roles with increasing responsibility
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire a team
  • Previous supervisory or planning staff experience
  • Thorough knowledge of planning systems, manufacturing operations, and facilities operations.
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Strong communication skills

Summary Pay Range:
$97,530.00 - $146,290.00
