Job description

Safety is #1 at BTD: Our expectation is that every employee: 1) Strictly follows safety policies, rules and safe work methods. 2) Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. Promptly reports injuries for prompt diagnosis and treatment. 3) Makes regular suggestions for safety process improvements to support continuous improvement in safety.
Essential Functions:
  • Maintain equipment and building through procedures outlined in scheduled preventative maintenance work orders.
  • Repair equipment as necessary to include General repair "M" and Emergency "X", work orders.
  • Be able to read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine repair problems.
  • Be able to fabricate equipment as required to include the associated welding, cutting, and drilling activities.
  • Submit timely progress reports on specific maintenance projects he oversees and update all involved individuals.
  • Follows department procedures to enter time and components accurately on maintenance work orders.
  • Uses continuous process improvements to improve preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Be able to replace machine parts as part of repair projects.
  • Consults with the Maintenance Lead and other personnel as required along with maintenance and/or repair projects.
  • Be able to provide required tool assortment for position within 30 days of Tech 2 status. A list will be provided.
  • Must follow BTD safety policies including wearing proper PPE when on duty.
  • Participates in other organized activities, committees, etc. within BTD.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Graduation from high school (or equivalent) plus at least two years of related technical training and one year on the job BTD experience or three years of on-the-job related experience in the machine maintenance field.
Experience and Skills Required:
  • Considerable knowledge of trouble shooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of the materials, methods, practices, and tools used in electronic and manufacturing maintenance including reading blueprints and schematics.
  • Considerable knowledge of related safety requirements to include proper use of safety equipment and proper safety precautions.
  • Must be able to perform moderately complex manufacturing maintenance activities.
  • Must be able to operate general office equipment including maintenance related applications on a microcomputer.
  • Must understand and follow routine oral and written instructions.
  • Must establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Compensation Hourly Range: Base hourly range of $26.19 - $36.69, with flexibility for candidates demonstrating exceptional maintenance experience and skill sets. The range for this position is being displayed in compliance with all state and local regulations. Salaries are set based on a number of factors to include an individual's job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. This means that no two candidates are alike. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future & continued salary growth. The range provided above does not include additional compensation such as bonus, health benefits, vacation, 401(K) match, etc.
