Beatrice State Developmental Center (BSDC) - Beatrice, NE
Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services
Are you a compassionate and skilled Physical Therapist looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental and physical disabilities? The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Physical Therapist II to join the dedicated interdisciplinary team at the Beatrice State Developmental Center.
In this rewarding role, you will provide specialized physical therapy services designed to improve mobility, restore function, relieve pain, and enhance quality of life for individuals with complex physical and developmental needs. You will develop and administer individualized treatment programs, collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams, and help ensure the highest standards of therapeutic care are delivered.

Under limited supervision, performs professional work in the delivery of physical therapy services to persons with physical disabilities who reside in a Department of Public Institutions facility. Incumbents plan and administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatment and rehabilitation programs to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent further disability; performs related work as required.
What You'll Do:
  • Hands-on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound and ice/heat. Using exercises, stretching, equipment and hands-on therapy to manage patients' pain, increase mobility and prevent further pain and injury.
  • Recording patient progress and modifying the plan of care if needed
  • Developing individualized patient treatment plans

Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in physical therapy plus two years of experience in working with special needs clients.
Preferred Qualifications: Physical Therapist with experience with DD/ID population.
