Sweetwater Independent School District is seeking a dedicated and student-centered 3rd grade Math Teacher to join the team at Sweetwater Intermediate School. Position Overview
The 4th Grade Reading Teacher will provide engaging, standards-aligned instruction that builds strong foundational literacy skills. The ideal candidate will create a classroom environment that fosters critical thinking, reading comprehension, and a love of learning while supporting the diverse needs of all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality Tier 1 reading instruction aligned to state standards
- Utilize formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and interventions
- Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to improve instructional practices
- Implement district curriculum with fidelity, including structured literacy and evidence-based practices
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff
- Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging classroom environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certification (Core Subjects EC6 or ELAR 48 preferred)
- Strong content knowledge of foundational mathematic processes
- Experience with data-driven instruction and intervention strategies preferred

Sweetwater ISD participates in the Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment, providing additional compensation for highly effective teachers based on designation level:
- Recognized: $7,384 annually
- Exemplary: $14,768 annually
- Master: $26,614 annually
