SUMMARY:
The overall responsibility of an Assistant Manager is the operation of a Brusters Real Ice Cream store in the absence of the General Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
In fulfilling this responsibility the Assistant Manager has several functions, the most
important of which is to oversee the front of the store. The Assistant Manager is also
responsible for staff, paperwok and must have an overall working knowledge of the
whole Brusters store operation.
A. Oversee Front of the Store
1. Ensure Customer Satisfaction served in appropriate time using
proper customer service skills
2. Product Quality Checks check procedures/weights/sizes of products
3. Provide customer service as needed
B. Staff Issues ensuring proper dress code is followed and promote positive
employee morale
C. Completing Paperwork complete all paperwork as required by company
and to ensure government compliance; complete banking procedures as
necessary
D. Store Operation
1. Perform register maintenance and upkeep
2. Possess knowledge of building & equipment
3. Possess cake & pie know-how
4. Ensure proper cleaning procedures are being followed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee will provide leadership to staff on a
frequent basis. Supervisory skills are required.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent. A food
service or management background is helpful. Basic computer skills are necessary.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must possess verbal skills sufficient to communicate effectively with employees and customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Must possess well-developed math skills sufficient to
complete paperwork and reports required to operate store effectively.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
The position of Assistant Manager requires
dependability, honesty, responsibility and the ability to assert authority when necessary
with staff.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

environment, both quickly and without creating a hazard.
Position requires lifting up to 50 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of
objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to
chemicals used in cleaning. Employee is also exposed to extreme cold occasionally
when entering the walk-in freezer. The employee also frequently comes into contact
with hot water while cleaning and sanitizing tools and containers, and the extreme heat
of the waffle iron while baking waffle cones. The noise level in this work environment is
usually moderate and occasionally loud.

OTHER JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The employee must possess a valid drivers license and furnish own vehicle to achieve work objectives; maintain an orderly, clean and safe work area; properly care for company property; and maintain proper conduct befitting a business environment.
