Brunch Manager information

What is a brunch manager?

Brunch Managers are hospitality professionals responsible for overseeing the planning, preparation, and service of brunch at restaurants, cafes, or hotels. Their duties include managing staff schedules, ensuring high-quality food and service, handling customer inquiries or complaints, and maintaining inventory for brunch-specific menus. Brunch Managers also coordinate with chefs to create and update brunch offerings and often handle marketing or promotional activities to attract guests. Their goal is to ensure that guests have a positive brunch experience while the business operates efficiently during brunch hours.

What are some unique challenges a brunch manager might face compared to other restaurant management roles?

Brunch Managers often navigate unique challenges such as high guest volume during limited service hours, managing both breakfast and lunch menu offerings, and coordinating larger weekend staff teams. Additionally, they must excel at handling rapid table turnovers and ensuring a smooth flow of both kitchen and front-of-house operations during peak times. Effective communication and multitasking are essential, as the brunch period tends to be more condensed and fast-paced than typical meal services.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a brunch manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Brunch Manager, you need experience in restaurant operations, staff supervision, and food safety, often supported by hospitality management education or equivalent work experience. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and health code certifications is typically required. Strong leadership, customer service, and problem-solving skills help you create a positive dining atmosphere and manage busy brunch periods. These competencies ensure efficient service, high guest satisfaction, and smooth team coordination during peak hours.

Job description

At Another Broken Egg Cafe, brunch isn’t just what we do — it’s who we are. We are known for our chef-inspired Southern cuisine, craft cocktails, and elevated breakfast, brunch, and lunch experiences served in a warm, inviting atmosphere.

Our concept is built around hospitality that goes beyond expectations. We believe in creating memorable moments for every guest — what many call “unreasonable hospitality.” That means anticipating needs before they are spoken, turning ordinary interactions into extraordinary experiences, and empowering our staff to create moments guests never forget.

And because we specialize in breakfast and brunch, we do not operate night shifts — ever. Our staff enjoy evenings with family and friends while working with a high-performing, daytime-focused hospitality team.

As a Busser, you will be one of the driving forces behind the cafe’s success, working with servers and Host/Hostess to ensure guests receive excellent service through clean and proper table setup and beverage setup all the while maintaining a clean and stocked work environment.
