MOTION GRAPHIC DESIGNER
The TEGNA Design Tank in Denver, Colorado is in search of a talented Motion Graphic Designer, with strong 3D or editing to be part of its internal creative department servicing our broadcast television stations and digital platforms.
The Motion Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating complex animated graphics and infographics, kinetic typography and video assets. They will work with a team of other artists and designers that will support all the TEGNA television stations daily. This position works closely with the Sr. Creative Director, Art Director, Production, Sr Mgr. Design & Production & Production Coordinator, as well as employees across all TEGNA stations nationwide. The Motion Graphic Designer will receive continuous feedback throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
• Design and animate broadcast graphics for TEGNA local news stations (including logo design, informational graphics, branding and marketing projects)
• Communicate with stations about projects and daily graphics
• Handle other essential tasks as assigned
Requirements:
• Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
• Candidate must have had formal training in design/art school and preferably motion graphic curriculum at trade school or college. Please don't apply if you are not a designer.
• Proficient in Cinema 4d and/or Blender preferred, but not mandatory.
• Applicants with editing experience (Adobe Premiere) will have stronger consideration
• Broadcast experience desired
• 2-4 years of experience as a motion graphic designer in a professional graphic design environment is preferred, recent graduates are also encouraged to apply!
• Strong executional skills in Adobe products, specifically Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects, Cinema 4D and Premiere Pro are also preferred, any Chyron experience is a plus
• Excellent design and animation skills, extra points if you are an editor and designer
• A professional portfolio demonstrating compelling and aspirational designs, we want to see your design chops!
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Able to perform under very tight deadlines
• Ability to multitask projects
• Flexibility & experience with current design & editing AI tools.
• Able to react to change and take direction effectively and productively
• Strong spelling and grammar skills
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends
