Job description

Popejoy Hall, New Mexico's premier performing arts center, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Communications and Outreach Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. In this role, you will help promote Popejoy Hall and its programs, performances, and community initiatives through writing outreach coordination, marketing support, and audience engagement efforts.

Seating up to 1,985 patrons, Popejoy Hall is the largest venue of its kind in the state. We host touring Broadway shows, symphony concerts, musical soloists and artists of international caliber, world-renowned ballet and modern dance companies, and distinguished speakers from a broad spectrum of disciplines.

As a successful Communications and Outreach Specialist, you will:

  •  Write and edit print and digital communications aligned with Popejoy messaging, including show updates, subscriber materials, outreach event flyers, and season brochure copy.
  • Serve as the primary coordinator and point of contact for Broadway education programs, including Broadway for Teens, Broadway Bridges, master classes, and workshops.
  • Manage the Popejoy Schooltime Series, serving as the primary contact for participating patrons and overseeing the Schooltime Series Facebook page.
  • Develop educational materials for performances and programs.
  • Oversee the ecard process for Popejoy programs, including Popejoy Presents, the Schooltime Series, and Popejoy Hall rentals. This involves scheduling, coordinating on-sales, crafting ecards, managing mailing lists, and marketing initiatives as needed.
  • Assist with and write grants or other materials that support programming and outreach efforts.
  • Prepare reports related to outreach initiatives and audience engagement activities.
  • Coordinate the schedule and staffing for marketing tables at all Popejoy Presents shows, new student orientations (NSOs), and community outreach events.
  • Supervise student interns or volunteers as needed.
  • Represent the department as needed at performances, informational fairs, and outreach events. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
