Job description

Structures, Inc. is growing and is seeking a full-time, experienced, self-motivated, safety minded Project Manager/Estimator who wants to be part of our team.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee average of 1-4 projects depending size and complexity
  • Manage and oversee Project Engineer and potentially other PMs
  • Participate and positively contribute to company team culture internally within company and externally with project team
  • Develop and maintain positive relationship with clients and trade partners
  • Work with Safety Manager, Superintendent and remainder of project partners to establish and maintain project safety management plans to ensure a safe work environment throughout the entirety of the project. Ensure company and project safety policies are enforced.
  • Project financial management including job tracking and control, expedited and accurate billing, change order management and financial forecasting (monthly).
  • Work with Superintendent, subcontractors and suppliers to establish and maintain project schedule.
  • Code Invoices
  • Generate scope of work attachment for subcontractor and purchase agreements, other company admin will compile and send the complete agreements.
  • Complete project documentation required per contract by client in timely manner.
  • Coordinate with subs & suppliers about upcoming needs (work with and stay ahead of Superintendent)
  • Distribute updated project Plans/Approved Shops to Superintendents/subs/suppliers
  • Process RFIs
  • Assist in Estimating for company and price change orders for individual projects
  • Timely startup and closeout of projects
  • Be mindful of rental equipment on projects
  • Be on the lookout for negative project trends (extended rentals, back-charges, budget fade)
  • Maintain frequent communication with the Superintendents
  • Guide Superintendents efforts as needed to maintain efficiencies
  • Schedule project (weekly/monthly) with Superintendents taking into account manpower availability, set milestones

Qualifications:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret project plans, specifications, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and RFI's. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Possess understanding of budget and job cost reporting.
  • Be competent in the use of Microsoft Office products & email.
  • Proficiency in Viewpoint is preferred but not required
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of project management experience in heavy civil construction.
  • Ability to develop, update & maintain CPM schedules using MS Project and/or Primavera
  • Proficient in understanding Drawings & Specifications.
  • Possess excellent documentation & recordkeeping skills.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • BS in engineering or construction management related degree is preferred.
  • Assure project compliance with company's safety policies and OSHA safety standards.
  • Must possess a current driver's license.
  • Bridge construction experience is required.
  • Experience with CDOT projects is required.
