The Company's platform aims to create candidate-ready compounds with unprecedented speed using a combination of deep biology, computational and medicinal chemistry, machine learning, and proprietary big data infrastructure. We are expanding the team of talented scientists who seek to build the future of small molecule drug discovery with creativity and innovation.
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced drug discovery biologist join our growing Discovery Biology team. The successful candidate brings significant hands-on expertise in cell-based assay development and enablement to drive early drug discovery programs. The successful candidate will lead from the bench and contribute to biology strategy and execution across Superluminal programs.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead from the bench: this role is hands-on and wet lab-focused to drive programs from hit finding through all phases of early discovery
  • Independently design, develop and execute a broad array of cell-based assays to interrogate GPCR function and signaling
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with computational, chemistry and protein science colleagues to conceptualize, design, and execute novel screening assays
  • Lead program(s) and manage/mentor junior scientist(s)
  • Contribute to project and department strategy and bridge discovery biology efforts with pharmacology and translational sciences
  • Regularly communicate findings with program teams and present at project & company-wide meetings
Required Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Biology or related field with 8+ years experience in industry required
  • Significant hands-on experience in cell-based assay development, execution and interpretation across a broad range of assays and platforms (functional, target engagement, kinetic, plate-based, flow cytometry, high content imaging)
  • Demonstrated success leading and driving exploratory and early discovery projects to key decision points
  • Experience managing direct reports and mentoring junior scientists
  • Creative, self-motivated, willing to take risks and thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment
