The Medical Assistant position is an onsite role within our vibrant community health clinic located in Briarcliff Manor, NY. Working alongside a team of physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, you will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic setting where collaboration and innovation are paramount. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional weekends or evening shifts as needed for special events or patient emergencies.

• Manage administrative tasks such as scheduling patient appointments, updating electronic health records (EHR), and maintaining organized medical charts to ensure efficient clinic operations.
• Provide warm, welcoming service to patients, taking comprehensive medical histories and preparing them for examinations, while assuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
• Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment and an organized workspace, while demonstrating proficiency in medical equipment usage.
• Collect and prepare specimens for laboratory testing, adhering to safety protocols for labeling and documentation, to guarantee accurate lab results.
• Administer medications and injections prescribed by the physician, rigorously following medical guidelines and safety protocols to promote patient wellbeing.
• Conduct routine laboratory tests such as urinalysis and electrocardiograms (EKGs), accurately interpreting and documenting findings to inform treatment decisions.
• Educate patients on medication regimens, upcoming procedures, and overall health recommendations, fostering a clear understanding and encouraging patient autonomy in managing their health.
• Perform essential patient care tasks, including monitoring vital signs, conducting height and weight assessments, and accurately documenting all findings in patient records.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in examination rooms, ensuring that medical supplies are adequately stocked and that all instruments are sterilized in compliance with health standards.
• Engage in collaborative efforts with healthcare professionals to support coordinated patient care and actively participate in interdepartmental communications to enhance treatment plans.

• A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; however, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from a recognized certification body or as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and pharmacology, reflecting comprehensive knowledge essential for effective healthcare delivery.
• Proficient in using EHR systems and medical software, enabling efficient and accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatments.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect empathetically with patients and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.
• A proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively, prioritize workload, and maintain calmness in a busy clinical setting.
• A keen attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy while executing clinical and administrative tasks.
• Dedication to ethical standards and strict confidentiality adherence in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Previous experience working as a Medical Assistant or in a similar healthcare role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Exposure to pediatric care or working in a community health clinic may provide an added advantage.

The annual salary for this Medical Assistant position ranges between USD 50,000 and 65,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
