Job Title: Bridge Engineer
Job Description
The Bridge Engineer leads and supports complex bridge projects by performing structural analysis and design, overseeing project delivery, and guiding other structural engineers. This role prepares detailed engineering reports, technical specifications, and construction documents while ensuring compliance with applicable design codes, schedules, and budgets. The Bridge Engineer collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and third parties, and contributes to proposal development and business development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support project teams in structural analysis, design, and evaluation of bridge structures.
- Prepare detailed engineering calculations, drawings, and design documentation for bridge projects.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other structural engineers to ensure quality and consistency.
- Prepare engineering reports, technical specifications, and standard documents in accordance with applicable design codes.
- Develop and manage work plans, schedules, and project budgets to meet project objectives and deadlines.
- Research and review design options to evaluate both technical feasibility and financial impact.
- Collaborate and liaise with other professionals, clients, and third parties as needed throughout project life cycles.
- Assist with the preparation of proposals, including technical scopes, estimates, and schedules.
- Participate in and support business development activities, including client meetings and presentations.
- Utilize 3D structural modeling and analysis software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA to develop and refine bridge designs.
- Use Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation to produce and review plans, models, and construction documents.
- Perform other related engineering duties as assigned to support the success of bridge and structural projects.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10–20 years of experience in bridge design and project management.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).
- Extensive experience in bridge design and structural design.
- Strong background in civil engineering principles related to bridges and transportation structures.
- Proficiency in 3D structural modeling and analysis using software such as CSI Bridge, Sofistik, and ADINA.
- Proficiency with Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and MicroStation for design and drafting.
- Demonstrated experience preparing engineering reports, technical specifications, and construction documents.
- Experience preparing proposals and leading or supporting business development activities.
- Ability to supervise, coordinate, and review the work of other structural engineers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in a project environment.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, colleagues, and third parties.

Work Environment
This role follows a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office and two days working remotely. The Bridge Engineer works closely with a team of engineers and designers in a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment. Occasional travel may be required to attend meetings, site visits, or project-related activities. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $123000.00 - $200000.00/yr.
