  • Adhere to OSHA standards, company policies, and yard safety rules
  • Support Lockout/Tagout procedures and proper rigging practices
  • Maintain awareness of surroundings to prevent incidents involving personnel or equipment

Communication & Team Collaboration

  • Communicate effectively with drivers, yard personnel, and logistics teams
  • Report delays, hazards, or operational issues in real time
  • Work collaboratively to ensure smooth transitions between yard processes
  • Provide feedback to improve efficiency, safety, and throughput

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous overhead (bridge) crane experience preferred
  • Experience in flatbed, trucking, yard, or warehouse environments highly desirable
  • Understanding of material handling safety practices
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Strong attention to detail and spatial awareness
  • Ability to operate equipment safely and precisely
  • Effective communication and driver interaction skills
  • Time management and ability to maintain workflow under pressure
  • Safety-first mindset with sound judgment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Ability to climb, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to operate crane controls and perform visual inspections
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Industrial yard and tarp station with continuous truck traffic
  • Regular exposure to overhead lifting equipment and moving vehicles
  • Frequent interaction with drivers and yard personnel
  • Elevated noise levels and active equipment operation
  • Outdoor work environment with changing weather and ground conditions
