Job description

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Responsible for being the customer advocate, while consistently representing GLBC in a positive manner
  • Responsible for carding all patrons under the age of 30
  • Follows all procedures for selling alcohol safely
  • Enthusiastically greet guests, answer questions, and offer suggestions regarding merchandise
  • Counts and balances cash drawer; and adheres to proper cash handling procedures
  • Straightens and folds merchandise throughout the shift
  • Restocks shelves from in house supplies
  • Dusts all shelves, cleans all glasses, including windows, shelves and counter, empties waste basket and vacuums throughout shift
  • Continually checks for faulty merchandise, removes from shelves, tags reason for it removal, records in inventory log, and reports to Store Supervisor
  • Audits and updates all price tags
  • Checks beer expiration dates and ensures proper rotation
  • Price tags all received merchandise
  • Answers telephone and forwards calls where appropriate
  • Completes data entry as needed
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of prior retail experience is required
  • Solid verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to stay organized under pressure and make spontaneous decisions
  • Must be detail oriented with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot when necessary
  • Must be computer savvy
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
  • Flexible scheduling with majority of hours during nights and weekends (Sunday availability is required)
