What You'll Be Doing

This role is designed to give you hands-on experience across HR, with an initial focus on benefits and HR systems, plus exposure to broader generalist work over time.

  • Support day-to-day administration of benefits, HRIS, and payroll programs
  • Help maintain and improve employee data accuracy and processes within our HR systems
  • Assist with employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, role changes, and offboarding
  • Keep documentation and internal tools up to date, including role matrices and SharePoint resources
  • Gain exposure to compensation practices, including program design, market pricing, and compensation philosophy
  • Support Morale and Wellness programs and activities that help build a positive, connected culture
  • Assist with rolling out policy and legal updates to ensure compliance and consistency across the organization

You'll work closely with experienced HR leaders and get visibility into how HR supports the agency end-to-end.


What You'll Need
  • Around 1 year of HR experience, internship, or related exposure in an office setting
  • Strong customer service mindset and a genuine desire to help employees
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic understanding of benefits, payroll, and/or leave administration
  • Familiarity with HR systems such as Paylocity, Namely, or similar tools is a plus
  • General knowledge of employment laws like FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, EEO, ADA is helpful, but you'll continue learning on the job

This role is based primarily out of our San Diego headquarters and requires regular in-office presence.
