Job description

BREAKFAST ATTANDENT
Purpose of Position: Breakfast Host is responsible for providing outstanding guest service, greeting, and serving hotel guests in the breakfast area. Maintaining breakfast buffet service during breakfast hours and ensuring smooth operations of breakfast area daily.
Essential Functions:
  • Possess a positive and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding customer service to our guests. Ensure smooth service each morning.
  • Respond to guest requests in a friendly professional manner. Resolve any guest complaints regarding the breakfast area. When necessary, request assistance from the General Manager.
  • Maintains a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality in all areas.
  • Remain available in the breakfast area during posted hours to ensure all guest needs are met.
  • Set up the breakfast buffet including hot food items and maintain it through breakfast hours.
  • Keep breakfast area clean and stocked throughout the day, i. e. stock paper products, glassware, (if required) food items, empty trash and clean off tables.
  • Follow all Federal, State, and Local health and safety procedures always including wearing gloves, hand washing, food temperatures, and storage.
  • Complete training in all areas of security, alcohol, and health and safety. Ensuring that all OSHA, State, and Federal guidelines for chemical, fire, health, and safety are being followed. Keeping safety in mind in all things.
  • Clean breakfast area and kitchen each day, washing dishes, tables, chairs, equipment, and ensuring that all areas of the breakfast area and kitchen are clean and sanitized to meet Federal, State, and Local guidelines.
  • Restock the breakfast area and have it ready for the next day.
  • Ensure that inventory is at an adequate level and follow property ordering guidelines for replenishment.
  • Conduct monthly inventory as required.
  • Always remain professional in appearance following brand uniform requirements.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and convey information and ideas.
  • Participates in and supports a positive, enjoyable work environment.
  • Holds an understanding of hotel products and services (i.e., food and beverage, recreation)

Performs other duties as assigned.
Accountability
  • Maintains a high level of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness.
  • Follows all Federal, State, and local guidelines including OSHA communication training.

Experience or Training Required
  • High school education
  • 1-year hospitality or food service experience (Preferred)

License or Certification Required
Complete food service training as required.
Marginal Job Functions
  • Cleaning lobby and public areas as needed.
  • Restock, inventory, and sell guest marketplace and pub if applicable.

Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel, for long periods, up to 8 hours at a time. Reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently repeat the same movements, including frequent keyboarding.
  • Understand the speech of other people and speak clearly so others can understand.
  • Read and see details.
  • Occasionally work around hot oven and kitchen equipment.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds occasionally, lift to 35 pounds from time to time.
  • Stoop, kneel, twist or crouch frequently.
