A brunch cook prepares and cooks breakfast and lunch foods during busy morning and afternoon shifts. Their main tasks include setting up the kitchen station, cooking eggs and griddle items, plating dishes quickly, and keeping work areas safe and clean. 
 
Prep and Station Setup
  • Chop vegetables and slice meats.
  • Make batters, sauces, and gravies.
  • Turn on grills, griddles, and fryers.
  • Stock the line with pans and tools. 
 
Cooking and Service
  • Cook eggs to order (fried, poached, scrambled, omelets).
  • Make pancakes, waffles, and french toast.
  • Grill bacon, sausage, and ham.
  • Assemble complex dishes like eggs Benedict or breakfast sandwiches.
  • Plate food fast during the morning rush. 
 
Safety and Cleanup
  • Follow food safety and temperature rules.
