The Global Brand & Creative team within Marketing is responsible for our brand and marketing creative. From building brand awareness campaigns to designing experiences like Dreamforce, our multi-faceted team does it all. The Brand Insights, Strategy & Management team is in charge of the brand insights, brand strategy, creative strategy, and brand management that powers the Global Brand & Creative team and Salesforce as a whole. We advocate the power of brand across the organization, guide brand marketing activities, and ensure brand excellence.

That's where you come in. We are looking for a visionary Director, Brand Strategy who is equally fluent in macro-level data insights and institutional brand building. In this critical leadership role, you will govern the foundational layer of the Salesforce brand. You will help refine our evergreen positioning, manage overarching brand systems, and direct major insights initiatives, including our Global Brand Health Tracker. You will serve as the architectural compass for the brand. By marrying analytics with systems-thinking, you will guide core brand philosophy, lead M&A brand integrations, define non-product naming architecture, and establish the governance that ensures Salesforce

remains a coherent, differentiated, and category-defining brand globally.

This role will work in close collaboration with our Brand Creative team, Executive Leadership team, and stakeholders across Marketing to guide our brand and ensure our brand is performing.

What you will do

  • Lead Corporate Brand Strategy: Define, protect, and evolve the core Salesforce brand strategy and identity.

  • Build Brand Systems: Develop, scale, and maintain the structural frameworks, brand rules, and systems that dictate how the brand shows up coherently across all sub-brands, audiences, and geographies.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner deeply with stakeholders across the business to ensure foundational brand strategy is integrated into every facet of the business.

  • Lead Brand Health: Own brand research initiatives, such as our Global Brand Health Study. Translate complex data on long-term brand equity, sentiment, and macro market shifts into actionable institutional strategy. Design research to inform brand strategy decisions, such as M&A, in partnership with our vendors.

  • Design Research to inform brand M&A Brand Integration: Define the strategic roadmap and frameworks for how newly acquired companies are absorbed, co-branded, or positioned within the overarching Salesforce ecosystem.

  • Synthesize Market Intelligence: Continuously monitor competitive positioning, cultural trends, and audience perceptions to identify long-term growth opportunities and structural brand risks.

What experience you have

  • 10+ years of experience in brand strategy, brand insights, or brand management, with significant leadership experience at a top-tier consultancy, agency, or global B2B/B2C tech brand.

  • Deep expertise in brand positioning and foundational brand strategy.

  • Extensive experience managing complex brand architecture, e.g. M&A integration, brand systems design, and non-product naming frameworks.

  • Executive presence and the ability to confidently present complex data and the resulting strategies to C-suite stakeholders.

  • Exceptional systems-thinking skills - you know how to build frameworks that organize complexity and scale across a massive global enterprise.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale global insights projects, specifically Brand Health Trackers, and turning quantitative/qualitative data into macro brand decisions.

  • BA/BS required; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
