Job description

At NASCAR, you will find a community of passionate individuals who care about our sport and are united in seeing it grow.
NASCAR seeks a talented professional to join in the position of Director, Brand Content Production, based in our Charlotte, North Carolina office.
The Director, Brand Content Production leads the team responsible for producing social-first content across the NASCAR brand and track platforms. The Director owns how our social content is produced, setting the standards, systems, and culture that allow creators and editors to do their best work at scale across @NASCAR and NASCAR Track channels (Instagram Reels, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube).
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Oversee a team of producers, videographers, editors, and photographers, producing social-first content for organic and paid channels (as needed), setting clear expectations around quality and production standards.
  • Lead the production of platform-native content that keeps NASCAR in the conversation, highlighting drivers, moments, trends, and the NASCAR experience across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, and YouTube, with a clear understanding of how production, pacing, and storytelling differ by platform.
  • Ensure content is built with a strong understanding of how people consume, engage with, and share content in feed.
  • Ensure social-first content resonates beyond core NASCAR fans, reaching broader sports and culture audiences while staying grounded in the sport.
  • Establish clear, repeatable production processes across social and brand content, including project intake, creative briefing, timelines, approvals, and delivery.
  • Ensure systems are in place, in partnership with NASCAR Productions, to properly archive, tag, and store all brand content for discoverability and reuse across the broader NASCAR ecosystem.
  • Partner with production management to align production workflows, schedules, and resourcing across daily content, tentpole moments, marketing initiatives, and paid social campaigns.
  • Set standards for shot lists, post-production workflows, file management, and versioning to reduce friction and increase efficiency.
  • Create feedback loops between performance data and production decisions, helping teams learn what works and iterate faster.
  • Work closely with colleagues to align production with platform strategy, audience goals, and content strategy.
  • Build strong partnerships across Brand, Social, and Marketing teams to ensure content is planned and produced collaboratively, not in silos.
  • Guide approved ideas from conception through production, ensuring teams are clearly briefed, aligned on expectations, and set up to execute efficiently.
  • Help shape original formats and repeatable franchises that showcase drivers, unlock access, and add depth to NASCAR's content strategy.
  • Oversee social and digital video projects from start to finish, owning timelines, budgets, resourcing, and delivery standards.
  • Mentor and develop creators and editors, providing clear feedback, coaching, and growth opportunities.
  • Stay close to the work when needed, directing shoots, shaping edits, and supporting execution, while empowering the team to own their work.
  • Travel: 25%, including weekends

Supervisory Duties
  • Directly supervises assigned staff. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required skills/experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in content production with a strong emphasis on social-first storytelling and brand expression; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient on company provided hardware and software.
  • Proven leader with experience building and mentoring high-performing creative teams.
  • Able to inspire original thinking, push creative boundaries, and foster a culture of collaboration, speed, and risk-taking.
  • Strong track record of developing team talent, from coaching junior editors to guiding experienced editors toward stronger, more impactful work.
