Job description

Position Title: Rental Sales Specialist 

Reporting to: Rental Sales Manager 

Department: Sales

Our Mission Statement isforging long-lasting partnerships by providing first-class customer support. We live that statement every single day. We are looking for a Rental Sales Specialist to help support that mission. 

JOB SUMMARY 

The Rental Sales Specialist is responsible for the renting of new and used equipment and selling attachments, meeting customer needs, growing the market share, maintaining acceptable levels of gross profit, rental volumes and performing other general sales department duties as directed by the Branch Manager. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers to enhance the potential to rent new and used equipment  

  • Increase customer loyalty, market awareness and market share  

  • Research current industry market trends and competitive influences 

  • Track the location and movement of machines for rental and sales needs 

  • Visit key customer locations as needed 

  • Formulate rental quotes based on customer need. 

  • Document customer concerns, offer solutions, keep customers informed and provide feedback of actions taken 

  • Prepare contracts, record and close orders 

  • Provide trade information to customers, Sales team and Branch Managers. 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date lost rental report and prospects lists. 

  • Follow the processes in place to better manage cleanup and damage invoicing to customers. 

  • Monitor inventory including heavy equipment, compact equipment and attachment inventory. 

  • Control rental related expenses to assure proper margins and expense control.  

  • Provide status reports to Rental Salas Manager and Branch Managers. 

  • Assist in rental collections when needed. 

  • Attend training and sales/rental meetings as required to stay current with new equipment and sales promotions. 

  • Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the framework of Central Power Systems & Services objectives

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Strong focus on customer service 

  • Strong knowledge of heavy construction equipment used in earthmoving, underground construction, crushing, paving and recycling 

  • Good skills in operating vehicles and equipment used for demonstration purposes 

  • Strong rental management experience preferred 

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite 

  • Experience conducting competitive market research 

  • Basic knowledge of office machines, including copier, fax and printer 

  • Strong attention to accuracy and commitment to deadlines 

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed 

  • Demonstrate openness to new procedures, technology and structure 

WORK CONDITIONS 

Physical Demands/Work Environment: 

This position regularly requires walking, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, kneeling and climbing stairs. It also often requires pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting 50+ lbs. and working in a variety of weather conditions and noise levels.
